She's Here! The Queen of Christmas
Hello, readers! I've cooked up a special surprise for you - a holiday short story.
Ever since I published Curses, Boiled Again, the first book in the Lobster Shack Mystery series, I've had readers asking for a Christmas story. The more I thought of it, the more I wanted to wrap up Allie in a holiday mystery. So in the story, she and Aunt Gully volunteer at a Festival of Trees fundraiser hosted by the formidable Dagmar Smith, the self proclaimed Queen of Christmas. When Dagmar's diamond necklace is stolen, Allie must unravel a blizzard of clues to uncover the thief.
This is such a busy time of the year. Reading time is short. So I've written this special short story the perfect length for a cold winter's evening with a nice warm drink. I hope you have as much fun reading it as I had writing it.
I hope you enjoy the "Queen of Christmas." Be sure to leave a review and let me know if you liked it.

Research: The Procrastinating Author's Favorite Activity
Research in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut
Last weekend the hubby and I took a real old-fashioned country drive, and in the best tradition of country drives we stumbled upon some unexpected gems. My goal was legendary We-Li-Kit Ice Cream in Abingdon, CT which, believe me, did not disappoint.
But as we drove quiet country lanes through elegant Pomfret and into Woodstock, we saw this:
Roseland Cottage.
The garden!
The house!
The pinkness!
We didn't have time to tour the house, but we'll be back for sure. I think this house may end up in a book....
